Installation Overview:

• One Plug to Vehicle Installation: No wire cutting or splicing. Just 1 Y-connection to your vehicle is all that's required to install this system into a 2015 through 2020 Ford Edge with push-to-start ignitions. The plug-in connection is made at the vehicle's gateway control module mounted under the driver's side dash, to the lower right of the steering column (see example photo below.)

Install a Remote Starter into a 2015 to 2020 Ford Edge in 4 Easy Steps:
Step 1: Unplug the gateway plug from the rear of the vehicle's gateway module and plug it into the T-harness. Step 2: Replace the vehicle's gateway plug with the plug from the T-harness. Step 3: Plug the blue plug from the T-harness into the blue plug on the remote starter module. Step 4: Activate; turn the ignition ON. When the green LED turns OFF, turn the ignition OFF. DONE!

Standard System Features:

• Activate this system by pressing your Ford's OEM keyless entry remote's lock button 3 times: The distance that you will be able to activate the remote starter will be the same distance that you can remotely lock and unlock your vehicle's doors now. • 15-Minute Remote Start Run Time: The engine will shut down automatically after 15 minutes.
   
• Active Remote Shut-Down: You can cancel the remote starter sooner the same way you activated it.
   
• Active Key-Takeover: The remote starter will not immediately shut down when the driver's door is opened.
   
• Automatically engages the vehicle's climate controls based on prior settings.
   
• Activates OEM autolights while running.
   
• Ford Dash Cluster Information Display Control: Set what options your vehicle has that the remote starter system can activate through your vehicle's settings display, like climate control, heated seats, heated steering wheel, and disable/enable remote start activation. Options depend on the vehicle's trim level. Equivalent to Ford OEM remote starter systems.

SAE/OEM Safety & Security Features:

• Equipped with the same OEM safety and operating restrictions as Ford's factory-installed remote starters: The system will detect any current or stored fault codes, which will prevent the remote starter from activating. If the hood is open, the transmission is not in park, the vehicle's battery voltage is too low, the check engine light is on, or any stored DTC codes (no visual lights on the dash) will prevent the system from activating (you can also consult your vehicle's owners/operators manual).
   
• Entrance security and safety: In addition, on most Ford vehicle's, depending on how the OEM ECM was configured, it will only allow key takeover to be performed within an allotted amount of time after entering the vehicle. This time span can range from 45 seconds to 4 minutes before the engine will shut down if the key takeover procedure has not been performed (i.e., enter and turn your vehicle's ignition on).
   
• Fail-Safe Design: In the unlikely event of a component failure, the system cannot prevent you from starting your vehicle normally with a key. The system does not interrupt or "relay" any wires in the vehicle; basically, what this means is you can actually unplug the remote starter module with the T-harness still connected to the vehicle, and the vehicle will still start with the key.
