2022-2025 Ford Lightning DIY Remote Start Installation Overview

• 1 T-harness & 2 T-Taps Installation: The system's T-harness plugs in line with your vehicle's OBD2 port:
   
• The additional 2-wire harness (blue harness in the above photo) is routed over to a gray plug found behind the vehicle's glovebox, where two T-tap connections are made to two wires at the plug. You don't have to completely remove the glovebox; you just drop it down out of the way by pushing in the tabs on both the right and left sides of the glovebox and unsnapping the control arm (a.k.a. damper arm) on the bottom right of the glovebox. See example photos below.
   
• No OBD2 Port Blocking: You will not lose normal access to your vehicle's OBD2 port; No need to unplug the remote start system every time the vehicle's OBD2 port is needed for vehicle service or additional accessories.
• No Key Programming Procedures or Computer Programming is involved. Go straight from delivery to vehicle for installation.

Safe & Secured Remote Start Operation

• Brake Pedal Monitoring for Security: If the brake pedal is stepped on before the ignition is turned on, the remote starter will shut down.
   
• OEM Open Hood Monitoring for Safety: The remote start will not activate when the vehicle's hood is open and will immediately shut down if the hood is opened or if the vehicle's OEM hood pin switch is defective or not equipped.
   
• Meets all Ford OEM Safety Standards: The remote start system will not work in the following conditions:
  The ignition is on. The OEM alarm system is triggered. The doors are open. The transmission is not in Park (P). The vehicle battery voltage is too low. The service engine light is on. The low fuel light is on (not applicable to EV vehicles). 
   
• Remote Tamper Protection: There are limits of only 1 or 2 remote starts before needing to manually start the vehicle to allow additional remote starts (amounts vary from model to model).
   
• Vehicle must be locked for at least 45 seconds before activating the remote start. Consult your specific vehicle's owner's/operator's manual for complete details of everything stated above.
