MotorCityAutobahn.com's (retroactive) Limited Lifetime Warranty
MotorCityAutobahn.com (MCA) warrants any Directed® or Fortin™ brand remote start control module purchased from MCA to be free from defects in materials and workmanship to the original purchaser for the lifetime of the vehicle in which it was originally installed (warranty is non-transferable).
This coverage is retroactive and supersedes all warranty coverage provided by MCA prior to 08-01-2026, so if you're a past customer, your system now carries a lifetime warranty also.
This warranty is subject to terms of exclusions and conditions, including but not limited to damage resulting from improper installation, misuse, abuse, neglect, accidents, unauthorized modifications, or damages caused directly by vehicle performance, modifications, or maintenance.
Components with removed, altered, or defaced MCA proof-of-purchase identification labels and serial numbers cannot be honored and will void the warranty.
This warranty is exclusively provided by MCA and not endorsed by or honored through the OEM. MCA reserves the right to limit or deny any and all coverage that exceeds the original retail cost of the unit or deemed excessive warranty claims at our sole discretion.
Third-party determinations of a faulty component are not accepted. All component performance issues must be determined by an authorized MotorCityAutobahn.com technician by phone at 1-844-MTR-CITY. All components returned without prior authorization or arrangements will void warranty coverage.
The vehicle-specific wiring harness included with the system is warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three (3) years from the original date of delivery.
All remote transmitters are warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the original date of delivery.
Warranty Coverage
If MotorCityAutobahn LLC determines that a covered component has failed due to a defect in materials or workmanship under normal use and service as indicated above, the defective component will be repaired or replaced, at our sole discretion, with an equivalent product or a functionally equivalent replacement. This warranty is limited solely to the repair or replacement of the defective component(s).
Warranty Exclusions:
This warranty does not cover or is not retroactive to the following:
- Code Alarm, Prestige, or Pursuit brand systems.
- Damage resulting from improper installation, misuse, abuse, neglect, accidents, modifications, or use other than the components' designed application.
- Damage caused by incorrect wiring, improper testing procedures, reverse polarity, short circuits, over-voltage, or use outside the product's intended application.
- Damage caused by attempting to repair, alter, disassemble, or modify the product.
- Damage resulting from water intrusion, corrosion, excessive heat, fire, flood, lightning, impact, or other external causes.
- Cosmetic damage or normal wear and tear.
- Wiring harnesses after the expiration of the three-year warranty period.
- Products with removed, altered, or defaced identification labels or serial numbers, when applicable.
- Labor charges for installation, removal, reinstallation, vehicle diagnostics, towing, rental vehicles, loss of vehicle use, or any incidental, indirect, special, or consequential damages.
- Parts or systems delivered outside of the USA.
Warranty Eligibility
This warranty is extended only to the original retail purchaser/original vehicle and is non-transferable. Proof of purchase (Order ID) is required to obtain warranty service.
Obtaining Warranty Service
If you believe your product is defective, contact a MotorCityAutobahn.com technician 7 days a week (ET) at 1-844-MTR-CITY (687-2489) before attempting to return any product to obtain an RMA.
When warranty service is approved, the defective component must be returned via MCA-provided prepaid return shipping label for inspection. Components determined by MCA to be defective due to defects in materials or workmanship will be repaired or replaced at our sole discretion. Replacement components may be new or factory reconditioned and will meet the original product's performance specifications. All warranty exchange shipping costs are covered under your warranty and at no cost to you.
OE Manufacturer Limitations
This Limited Lifetime Warranty is dependent upon the continued availability of the components necessary to manufacture, repair, or replace the warranted electronic remote start module. In the event the OE manufacturer of a sold component discontinues production without providing a suitable replacement, permanently ceases operations, or otherwise makes the necessary components unavailable, and such components cannot reasonably be sourced from another supplier, MotorCityAutobahn.com may be unable to fulfill future warranty claims. In such circumstances, the Limited Lifetime Warranty will terminate due to the unavailability of the components necessary to provide warranty service.
The remedies provided under this Limited Lifetime Warranty are the exclusive remedies available to the purchaser. MotorCityAutobahn LLC shall not be liable for any incidental, indirect, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from the use or inability to use this product, including but not limited to loss of time, inconvenience, vehicle downtime, towing expenses, installation or removal charges, loss of profits, or damage to other property, except where prohibited by applicable law.
Some states do not allow limitations on incidental or consequential damages or limitations on the duration of implied warranties, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
