SYSTEM DETAILS:

• 100% In-Vehicle Programming: NO computer, internet access, system updates, or dealer programming needed:
  Just 2 keys to your vehicle is all that's required to program this system to your vehicle.

TECH TIP PRECAUTION: Cannot use "CLONED" keys for programming: Cloned keys are replacement keys that did not require programming to your vehicle during purchase; access to your vehicle was not required to make the new key. This restriction applies to any brand or model of remote starter system that requires 2 keys for programming.

• 100% Plug-In T-Harness Installation: No wire cutting or splicing. 3 plugs to your vehicle is all that's required to install this system into a 2017 & 2018 Ford Flex, 2 on the steering column and 1 at the vehicle's OBD2 connector below the driver's dash.
   
• Works Using Your OEM RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) Remotes: Pressing LOCK 3 times (w/Horn beep ON) on your OEM remote will activate the remote starter, OR, upon request, we can program it for you to activate by pressing the LOCK/UNLOCK/LOCK sequence (w/o Horn beep OFF). Option choice provided during checkout. Settings cannot be changed after installation (unless you send the control module back to us).
   
• Horn Honk OFF During Activation Option: We can program it for you to activate by pressing the LOCK/UNLOCK/LOCK sequence so the vehicle's horn won't beep when activating the remote starter. Option provided during checkout. Settings cannot be changed after installation (unless you send the control module back to us).
   
• Remote Start Range: Since you use your factory keyless entry remotes to activate the system, the range will be the same as the distance that you can currently lock & unlock your vehicle's doors from using your factory remote(s).
   
• Vehicle-Specific Factory Fit T-Harness: No wires or extra plugs to sort through that are left over and not used, meant for other Ford vehicles. This provides an easier-to-understand installation and a cleaner, more professional-looking install when finished. The plugs on the provided T-harness have just the connection you use for your specific vehicle, nothing else.
   
• Vehicle-Specific Step-by-Step Installation Guide: A clear & concise illustrated step-by-step installation guide that will walk you through every step of the installation. Written by professional installers for the DIY installer.
   
• Installation Information: Just 3 plugs on the vehicle are removed and plugged into the system's T-Harness. 2 are located on the steering column and one at the OBD2 diagnostic connector mounted below the driver's dash. Then the 3 identical plugs from the T-Harness are plugged back into where the vehicle's connectors were removed. To access the required connections, the vehicle's steering column covers need to be removed, and the vehicle's lower knee-bolster panel is also removed for routing and securing the system's wiring harness and control module (nylon zip ties are supplied for securing the system). That's it. The rest is just the system activation and programming procedure. The complete installation shouldn't take more than an hour.

SYSTEM FEATURES AND BENEFITS:

• 6 Choices of Remote Start Run Times Option: 15-Minute Remote Start Run Time (default): The system will automatically shut down after 15 minutes, OR you can shut it down sooner the same way you activated it. Choices of longer or shorter run times provided during checkout. Settings cannot be changed after installation .
   
• 2 Choices of Remote Start Activation Option: You can activate this system only 1 of 2 ways: either by pressing LOCK 3 times (w/Horn beep) on your OEM remote (default setting) OR by pressing the LOCK/UNLOCK/LOCK sequence (w/o Horn beep). Settings cannot be changed after installation. Choices provided during checkout.
   
• Automatic HEAT/AC Activation: Just leave your climate control settings where you want them when parking the vehicle, and the system will automatically turn them on within 10 seconds after you activate the remote starter.
   
• Active Key-Takeover: The engine will not shut down when the driver's door is opened, so you won't have to restart the vehicle again with your key every time after you remote start it. Once you enter the vehicle, you turn the ignition ON, and when you step on the brake to shift the vehicle into gear, the remote starter automatically turns OFF, but the vehicle remains running and goes back to normal operation.
   
• Brake Pedal Monitoring for Safety & Security: If you step on the brake pedal when the vehicle is running by the remote starter BEFORE the ignition is turned on with a key, the remote starter will immediately shut down, and you will have to restart the vehicle with the key.
   
• Open-Hood Monitoring for Safety & Security: The remote starter cannot be activated when the hood is open, and it would shut down if the hood was opened when the vehicle was running by the remote starter (the vehicle must be equipped with a factory-installed hood-pin switch for this feature to work).
   
• Upgrade Ready (sold separately):
  Not getting the distance you need out of your factory remotes? Upgrade anytime during or after installation with no system updates or special programmer necessary. • 1-Year QC Warranty: MotorCityAutobahn honors the manufacturer's warranty directly. In the rare event that the system would fail under normal everyday use, MCA will directly repair or replace any part of the system within 1 year from the date of delivery. Technical support assistance & RMA# required. A 2-year warranty upgrade is available at an additional cost, offered during checkout.
   
• "Red-Carpet" Warranty Coverage: We know how much of a pain getting a product covered under warranty can be: you call the company, get an RMA#, package it up, go to the post office, pay for return shipping, wait 2 weeks or more to get the part back, etc. etc...We streamlined the whole process, even though it's highly unlikely you would ever need warranty service for one of our systems, once one of our techs determines that you need a replacement, we will send out the replacement you need within 48 hours with a pre-paid return package for the part we are replacing, at no expense to you; all shipping cost is covered under your warranty! (Sorry, you still must either go to the post office or hand it to any USPS mailperson to ship it back.)
